Participate in Ministries

 

Baptism Ministry

Coordinates the baptism of candidates by communicating with the Intake and Media Ministry and the Pastor’s Admin Assistant.

Bereavement Ministry

Provides support to the families of WMBC who have suffered the loss of an immediate family member.
In case of death, please contact Minister Helen Richardson at 317-797-7183.

Children’s Choir (ages 4 to 11)

Responsible for singing praises to the Lord during worship services. For more information contact
Minister Billy Lester at musicministry@wmbchurch.org.

Children’s Church Ministry

Teaches a Bible lesson, makes crafts, and provides a snack.  All children ages 5 to 10 are welcome.

Elderly Women’s Ministry

The Elderly Women’s Ministry strives to live Godly lives and be examples to the congregation and particularly the young ladies.

Financial Education Ministry

Provides financial education sessions to those who desire or need help in the area of finance.  We pray for each person who has gone through the counseling sessions and pray for the saints in the area of finances.

Greeter Ministry

To provides a warm friendly atmosphere at all, especially our first time visitors/guests. Our ministry
is an organized way to help visitors and members feel welcome when they enter into the house of the Lord.

Harmony Ministry

Is a cutting edge social environment for singles ages 25 to 35 that demonstrates the presence of God
through unity. We meet outside the Church on a monthly basis to fellowship together in HARMONY around
the purpose of Christ.

Intake Ministry

This ministry is responsible for receiving new members at worship services and facilitating their transition
in the church community.

Intercessory Prayer Ministry

Gathers as a group every Wednesday from 6:00-6:45 p.m. to intercede on behalf of others.  There is a weekly prayer topic that is found in the weekly bulletin as well as the Sick and Shut-In List.  We also pray for all prayer requests submitted online via this website.

Juvenile Center Ministry

We minister to young people during their time of incarceration on a monthly basis.  We also host an annual Christmas party for the young people.  we visit the Juvenile Center on the third Monday of each month at 6:45 p.m.  Those interested in serving on this ministry must submit to a background check, a TB test, and complete an orientation session.  Convicted felons are not allowed to participate.

Manna Ministry

Provides food and clothing to those in need.  An adequate supply of food is kept  and outdated food is discarded.

Media Ministry

Ensures that the sound system for each of the services are on point. We record and sell audio and video CD’s
of the sermons. We also do the photography and videography for all church events.

Missionary Ministry

Spreads the Word of God at home and abroad. We currently provide financial support (with support
from the Church) to areas that experience natural disasters. We provide monthly support to six
different missionaries/organizations. We visit the sick and shut in. We also operate the food pantry
where we supply food to those in need. We meet the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. and all are welcome!

Music Ministry

Combined men and women’s choir responsible for singing praises to the Lord during worship services.

Nursing Ministry

Provides child care for infants and toddlers up to 4 years of age in a warm and nurturing environment during the Sunday morning worship service.

Nursing/Wellness Ministry

Care-giving ministry to ensure the well being and care of the congregation. CPR necessary but not required.

Pastor’s Partner Ministry

Provides support to the Pastor and his family in all areas. We pray for him daily, offer encouragement,
and plan events to celebrate his birthday, anniversary and any other special events in his life. We meet
at the call of the Chairperson.

Parking Lot Ministry

A ministry to maintain control of traffic and parking, while at the same time, providing a safe and secure
environment for the members and guest of Westside Missionary Baptist Church.

Pray & Crochet Ministry

Crochet prayer shawls and give them to those who are sick. Prayers are interwoven into each crochet stich
for healing, strength and peace. We pray that as each recipient wraps themselves in the shawl, they will
feel the comfort and peace that only comes from God. This ministry meets only on the first Wednesday of each
month at 6:00pm. No training required.

Sacred Dance Ministry

A Ministry open to all age group, that ministers to the hearts of the congregation through the expression
of dance. No formal training needed, just bring a heart of praise. We meet on Saturdays and Sundays at the call
of the ministry leader. Call the church office at (317)634-9060 for more detail.

Sunday Children’s Church

Sunday worship service for children 5 to 10 years.

Sunday Nursery

Christian child care for infants and toddlers (up to age 4) during the Sunday morning worship service.

Sunday School Ministry

We teach the word of God every Sunday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in classroom settings.  Classes are separated according to age.

Teen Choir

Teens (ages 12-19) responsible for singing praises to the Lord during worship services. A teen must be in
Youth Ministry to participate, for more information contact Minister Billy Lester at musicministry@wmbchurch.org.

Transportation Ministry

The Transportation Ministry operates the church van picking up members each Sunday morning in time to attend Sunday School.  Pick up and drop off is also available on Wednesdays for Wednesday Worship.  Members are returned to their homes after service.

Usher Board

This ministry is responsible for greeting the congregation and visitors, as well as to ensure order in and
around the church.

Youth Ministry

Seeks to help our young people discover, cultivate, and share their gifts, develop a positive self image,
serve those in need, foster social change, participate in the community and learn how to apply the Word of
God to their daily lives. The ministry is designed to help spiritually train and equip young people in a fun
and Godly atmosphere, to promote participation in the church, and develop a personal relationship with
the Lord Jesus. We meet the third Saturday of each month at 3:00 p.m. All youth ages 5 to 19 are welcome!
